URBAN SCRAWL 7 - 2013
The 2013 event was held at 400 W. Rich St., a former factory warehouse that now includes artist studios, rehearsal spaces for musicians, an art gallery. The festival took place on Saturday August 17th noon-10pm, and Sunday August 18th noon 6pm. Selected artists are given 1-2 primed, 4’ x 8’ vertical OSB panels to create their artwork during the festival. The Franklinton Arts District supplied the panels, paint and some painting supplies. Artists worked singly or as part of a local arts organization.
Urban Scrawl is a free 2 day festival that takes place yearly in Downtown Columbus, Ohio in Franklinton and features live painting by artists on large panels, electronic, hip hop, and rock music, a b-boy exhibition, arts & crafts vendors, children's activities, and food vendors.
In 2012 Urban Scrawl was held on Saturday, August 25th from noon to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 26th from noon to 6:00 p.m.
