Victoria Douglas: Parasocial Media
February 11 - March 5
We are pleased to welcome Scrawl 15 Artist Favorite Victoria Douglas to the Bridge Gallery Presented By Franklinton Arts District with 'Parasocial Media'. The exhibition will open on this Franklinton Friday's on February 11, from 6-10 PM.
Additionally, in partnership with Greater Columbus Arts Council and the Music Everywhere Columbus program, DJ Uncle Moze will be providing the soundtrack for the evening from 6-8 PM. Refreshments will be available with beer provided by Land-Grant Brewing Company. Admission is free; however, donations are encouraged. Show Statement I am Victoria Douglas. The only thing that I care about in this world, the only metric by which I establish my self-worth, is 'Likes' and 'Follows' on the internet. I am run ragged by the hunt for serotonin, nectar in my veins delivered through the needle of Instagram. My hunger is insatiable. I am brought joy by nothing that is not a quantifiable social metric. I leave my meager offerings upon the altar of your endlessly cascading feeds, that you may snort just the littlest bit through your noses as you scroll past into oblivion. Bio Victoria Douglas is a nonbinary illustrator, comic artist, and muralist. They hold a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and have been holed up in an unmarked, underground bunker making comics since 2018. They are criminally responsible for the ongoing comic CINNAMON from Behemoth Comics. Instagram: @blackbit.exe @happytank.comics Website: https://blackbit.world/ |
