Columbus’ longest running mural festival returns for its 18th year this September 7th and 8th, 2024, with immersive mobile mural experiences from the city’s best visual artists. In addition to witnessing murals galore, guests will explore the Franklinton Arts District; support works of local creative vendors; enjoy DJ sets, live performers, and dance exhibitions; eat at the city’s best food trucks; and learn about the community organizations making an impact within the Franklinton neighborhood. With an estimated attendance of 7,500 - 10,000, Scrawl will be a Central Ohio premier arts event!

Andrew LundbergAndrew Lundberg came to Columbus in 1995 for a design job after graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After spending fifteen years moonlighting on commissioned work alongside a career at the top design agencies in town as a Creative Director, he “started over” and gave up the corporate job along with his apartment to live in an Airstream in Franklinton. Andrew has built a thriving business within the last ten years along with an excellent reputation.

Kate MorganKate Morgan has a BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design and is based in Columbus, Ohio. Inspired by folklore, mythology & the human form, I use figural subjects to evoke a mysterious familiarity & a haunting interpretation of beauty. I build layers of antique & vintage paper collage mixed with my original ink washed drawings to create visual depth on wooden panels. Incorporating historical references through my use of collage, this element creates topical & textural details. Thematically I incorporate my love of the spirit as well as the strength of the feminine. I address symbolic, cultural, historical & spiritual themes with purposeful vagueness, allowing them to be familiar & curious to a variety of audiences. I want my work to be the beginning of a dialogue, not a confrontation.

Marcus BlackwellBorn in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Rochester, New York, Marcus currently resides in Columbus, Ohio. An artist all his life, in recent years he made a life-changing decision to transition from 25 years in the financial service industry to finally pursue his art career in earnest. With a foundation in studies in Illustration at the Columbus College of Art and Design and Multimedia Production at Columbus State Community College, he is a mixed-media visual artist who focuses on Illustration and Fine Art. His interests, rooted in storytelling traditions, are mainly concerned with the creation of expressionistic abstracted and figurative images which explore and depict themes and ideas related to Afrofuturism, dreams, mythology/folklore, symbolism, and social commentary.
