THE BRIDGE GALLERY
PRESENTED BY FRANKLINTON ARTS DISTRICT

September 2022

ANA LOWE & KBOATENG
KBOATENG X ELA É

SEPTEMBER 9 - OCTOBER 9

Picture
In their first collaborative exhibition, mixed media artist Ana Lowe and photographer KBoateng will display their work side by side in an exhibition that captures the intersection of art and fashion. With a focus on color and repurposed fabric, this exhibition will display altered garments, artwork, and photographs that push the notion of fashion as a static entity. Witness the boundaries of fashion be rewritten in this new exhibition on display starting Friday, September 9, 2022.

Special thanks to the Columbus Fashion Alliance for their support and sponsorship.

Refreshments will be available with beer provided by Land-Grant Brewing Company. Admission is free; however, donations are encouraged.

ABOUT ANA LOWE

Ela é. [She is.] an affirmative statement declaring that the garment, and more importantly, the human wearing it simply is. We are. a European-infused lifestyle brand focused on the power of re-lived + re-loved clothing. We push boundaries of where fashion stops + art begins. We push boundaries where feminine traits start + stop within streetwear, menswear & society. All garments and artwork available are pre-loved and have been altered with care to encourage us all to live, love + wear responsibly.

“In this show, I am showcasing the art side of the brand - frame*able fashion. My exploration of fashion and art has guided me to passionately create wearable art and frame*able fashion, always seeking to push the expectations and boundaries of where fashion and art live.

All frames, fabrics and trims were sourced ethically - many have been in my care for up to 20 years, traveling between countries and building a home many times over with me. In each piece I have shown here, I have poured not just my time but my love and intention into - in hopes that you feel embraced and cared for when surrounded by even just one of them.”

ABOUT KBOATENG

Picture
"As an Artist, I have always been drawn to black and white being my creative safe space because of my background in pencil art. As I grow in my craft, however, I have explored many avenues to push myself creatively and try new things. Earlier this year I did a collaboration fashion exhibition which changed my perspective on the art of fashion. This body of work is to showcase some colorful photographs I have created in the past and some new work as fine art pieces."
